Hi! I'm Ana, currently a PhD candidate at University College London, UK, where I work in supramolecular chemistry using both experimental and computational methods. I graduated from University of Cambridge in 2021 (Natural Sciences, Corpus Christi College) where I specialised in (experimental) organic chemistry, but I decided to take a more holistic approach towards science and to enter the world of academic research, hence my current whereabouts.
I have recently discovered the fascinating realm of computational chemistry and I am slowly (but steadily!) shifting towards the tech industry. I hope by the end of my PhD I will have improved my whole technical and soft skills repertoire which will allow me to tackle the current challenges and contribute to applications in material discovery.
Outside of my research, I am passionate about teaching - I have been part time tutoring for over four years. Since 2022 I have been conducting tutorials for first year undergraduates at UCL in all departments - organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry - where I get the amazing job of sharing my knowledge with other people as well as refresh my (old?) memory.
